STRATEGIC EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT IN THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF COMPANIES IN THE OIL, GAS AND COAL EXTRACTION AND SUPPLY SECTORS

 

Project duration: 01/08/2022 - 31/03/2024

The overall objective of the project is to promote transnational cooperation between social partners from seven EU Member States and two accession countries. Support for the project is provided by experts from the German Bildungswerk der Sächsischen Wirtschaft and the Polish Institute for Public Affairs.

 

The aim is to strengthen employee participation in the following challenges::

  • Predicting and managing change
  • Preventing and resolving disputes in the event of various forms of restructuring in companies and groups of companies at trade union level
  • in the development of outsourcing, subcontractors
  • digitalisation/artificial intelligence/automation and new forms of work

Industry 4.0 contributes to promoting the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and best practices through transnational mechanisms and bodies responsible for informing, consulting and involving workers, including European Works Councils.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  1. Analyse how workers in the oil, gas and coal sectors are adapting to Industry 4.0 and which techniques are being adopted as best practices.
  2. Improve the capacity of social partners to understand, anticipate, manage and monitor changes in the digitalisation of business processes and track their impact on employment, job requirements and working conditions in order to develop new initiatives to improve information and consultation processes between trade unions and employers and increase trade union participation in decisions related to digitalisation.
  3. Raise awareness among workers, trade union members, companies and their representatives on how they can be informed and involved in the digital transformation of companies.
